Dove hunting in Uruguay is typically a 3 day hunt. Most clients arrive into the city of Montevideo, Uruguay and transfer to the Lodge or Estancia. An afternoon dove hunt is always available on the day of arrival.
Los Gauchos provides the 20 gauge shotguns - but if you prefer your own shotgun or have a different gauge of gun you would like to use for your bird hunting, no problem.
Uruguay is set up to efficiently and easily allow wing-shooters to enter with their own shotguns. Los Gauchos provides a Gun Form that we submit to the hunting regulatory agency and the temporary license is issued upon your arrival in Montevideo.
Many of our guests and especially those that bring the family for a South American vacation, enjoy the historic and famous town of Colonia. It is about 50 minutes from Buenos Aires to Colonia and the pedistrain friendly, European-influenced town is a treat for those visiting Uruguay.
The dove hunting estancias are all located within an hour of Colonia and about 1.5 to 2 hours from Montevideo, Uruguay.
During the bird hunting season for Perdiz (May - June - July), wing-shooters can enjoy the Upland hunting for Perdiz with some of Uruguay's best bird hunting dogs, guides and the challenging but rewarding hunt for the Perdiz.
Adding the Perdiz hunting to your dove hunting trip is available during the months of May, June and July. Most clients like to spend 4 days bird hunting during a combo dove and Perdiz hunt.
